Gershon Nimbalker, Common Grace's National Director, shares a prayer for peace for Palm Sunday 2026.

____________

Lord Jesus,

you entered Jerusalem in humility,
not on a warhorse, but on a donkey.
You came not to dominate, but to love,
not to destroy, but to restore.

Teach us your way.

Form us as your Church,
that we would not mirror the ways of this world,
but bear witness to your Kingdom.

Give us courage to reject the path of domination,
and to choose the way of sacrifice.
Give us clarity to see every person
as precious, and worthy of protection.
To love each, as we love ourselves.

We pray for all who are suffering today —
for those living under the shadow of war,
for those who grieve,
for those who have lost homes, safety and loved ones.

Draw near to them with your comfort and peace.

We pray for the leaders of our world,
that they would turn from violence
and pursue justice, restraint and compassion.

And for us, Lord,
make us instruments of your peace.

Where there is fear, let us bring love.
Where there is violence, let us bring healing.
Where there is hatred, let us bring compassion.
Where there is division, let us bring dignity.
Where there is despair, let us bring hope.

Help us to walk your path,
to follow your way,
and to live as signs of your Kingdom in the world.

Amen.
