Last September hundreds of thousands of Australians took to the streets as part of the School Strike 4 Climate's #ClimateStrike. As the Common Grace community, we joined the #ClimateStrike walking together in many locations. This year circumstances are very different, but the action is still continuing. On May 15 at 4pm, join the School Strike 4 Climate's #BuildABetterFuture Interactive Livestream! RSVP and more information here.

We’ll be holding a prayer meeting, directly before the rally, for creation and climate justice.

Join us for an ecumenical prayer gathering at 3pm AEST. Hosted by our CEO, Brooke Prentis, and including prayer, music and reflections, you’ll hear student voices, Uniting Church President Deidre Palmer, Tongan minister Alimoni Taumoepeau and more...

More Information on the School Strike for Climate

We support the demands of the School Strike for Climate movement, as the minimum to start moving Australia and the world towards a safer climate for all:

  • No new coal, oil and gas projects, including the Adani mine.
  • 100% renewable energy generation & exports by 2030.
  • Fund a just transition & job creation for all fossil-fuel workers & communities.

We only have ten years left to make significant progress in protecting our planet from dangerous levels of carbon pollution. According to the UN, we need a global emissions reduction of 76% by 2030 from our current levels. This will be difficult, but is within our grasp if we all work together to demand stronger climate action.
