Digital Accessibility & Tech Support Officer

Casual (approx 8 hours per month)

PURPOSE

The Digital Accessibility & Tech Support Officer is vital in ensuring that all live and recorded online events and video content created by Common Grace are inclusive, accessible, and professionally delivered. This casual role is responsible for providing Zoom technical support during live webinars, captioning videos, and producing accurate video transcriptions for accessibility and content repurposing.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Zoom Tech Support – Live Webinars (approx. 30%)

  • Set up, monitor, and troubleshoot Zoom webinars and meetings.
  • Provide technical support for speakers and attendees during live sessions.
  • Coordinate screen sharing, recordings, breakout rooms, and Q&A functions.
  • Ensure smooth operation of webinars and professional presentations.

Video Captioning & Accessibility (approx. 60%)

  • Create and edit captions for recorded video content to ensure accuracy and alignment with Common Grace’s tone and messaging.
  • Upload captions to video platforms and verify that accessibility standards are met.

 

Transcription Services (approx. 10%)

  • Transcribe audio from webinars and videos with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Format transcripts for use in blogs, resource content, and accessibility documentation.

SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Demonstrated experience using Zoom, including webinar hosting and technical functions.
  • Proficiency in video captioning tools (e.g., Kapwing, YouTube Studio, Rev, Otter.ai, Descript, or similar).
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in captioning and transcription.
  • Excellent time management and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines remotely.
  • A commitment to the vision and values of Common Grace.

Desirable:

  • Understanding of accessibility best practices for online content.
  • Experience working in not-for-profit or faith-based organisations.

Familiarity with video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro).
