Melbourne's ‘Good Samaritan’ is a modern day witness to the sometimes costly beauty of neighbour love.
I refuse to be silent and will interrupt harassment, without violence. I will do so because I believe I must put compassion into action in order to be a true neighbour.
The Age broke the story on Tuesday morning with the headline “Good Samaritan assaulted after standing up for Muslim women who were abused on Melbourne train”.
We want to do more than lament this hatred. We want to do more than celebrate true neighbourliness. As Jesus sums up the story of the Good Samaritan, we want to “Go do likewise.”
