We’re looking for a passionate volunteer to lead the use of our social platforms to inspire, engage and mobilise Christians towards social justice.
Volunteering with Common Grace
Common Grace is a growing Christian movement of followers of Jesus from across the Church, whose faith inspires them towards justice, by speaking and living out a more gracious, compassionate Christian voice that reflect the ministry and teachings of Jesus, and partners with God’s healing work in this world.
As a movement, volunteers sit at the heart of our organising work. We are deeply committed to providing value and meaning to the work of our volunteers, ensuring they are supported and have opportunities for development, and in turn we expect a level of commitment to the role as a valued part of our wider team.
Purpose of the Role
Across Australia there are hundreds of thousands of Christians passionate about faith and justice, across every denomination and every generation, connected together by the grace of God. As a movement, Common Grace seeks to inspire, resource and organise these Christians to bold coordinated acts of justice, deeply rooted in our relationship with Jesus, and strategically positioned for social impact.
Social Media sits at the heart of this work, as the primary platform for us to reach these Christians, to inspire their hearts, and to enable their participation and leadership. Across our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter audiences we seek to share stories that move us to action, amplify the voices of the marginalised, inform our movement around key updates and developments relating to social justice, and to connect people’s faith with the pressing needs in our world.
The Social Media Coordinator will champion the role of social media across our movement, identifying opportunities for meaningful content development, coordinating the content we post across each platform, and managing conversations with our supporters. The role will work closely with the Common Grace team to plan, prepare and publish online content, with a focus on widening our reach and deepening our engagement. The role will will have content development responsibilities, including writing and graphic design, though these will be supported by a wider team producing content.
The role will require a commitment of eight hours work per week over three months. As part of our remote team you will be provided with an email address, be expected to maintain communications through Slack, and participate in our weekly meetings. You will report to and be supported by our CEO who will also develop and manage your volunteer development plan.
