Gershon Nimbalker steps into the role of Common Grace National Director with a wealth of experience and knowledge working for more than a decade in advocacy across the not-for-profit sector in Australia.

Gershon has a heart committed to learning together, listening and being led by our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander brothers and sisters as well as a deep passion to see the church across Australia step into its prophetic role as Christ’s hands and feet in these lands. 

Gershon’s previous experience includes his time as Advocacy Manager for Baptist World Aid where he co-authored Baptist World Aid’s Ethical Fashion Report and the Electronic Industry Trends Report. He was also more recently founder and Managing Director of Sojourners Social Change Consultants, working with numerous Christian development organisations both in Australia and overseas. 

Gershon lives on Awabakal Country, Newcastle, NSW, with his wife Naomi and young family, attending Hamilton Baptist Church.

Common Grace has also been blessed to have Gershon involved in contributing to and supporting the work of our movement over a number of years. He has been involved as a past blog and Advent contributor as well as playing a key role in the Common Grace Knit for Climate Action team, helping direct strategy, policy engagement and advocacy training to support our teams as we met with and gifted our nation’s leaders Knit for Climate Action scarves.
