Join in practical solidarity to ensure the oldest continuing cultures in the world are uplifted every Aboriginal Sunday.

Would you boldly support Common Grace’s commitment to create Aboriginal Sunday resources?

More than 85 years ago, Aboriginal Christian Leader William Cooper courageously called upon Australian churches to set aside the Sunday before January 26 to stand in solidarity and pray for justice and flourishing for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

His bold act of love and conviction gave birth to what we now know as Aboriginal Sunday — a sacred day of truth-telling, prayer, and solidarity.

In 2026, we continue this powerful legacy under the theme: Be Strong and Courageous.
“Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”Joshua 1:9

These words are both a command and a promise — a call to step forward in courage, knowing that God is with us. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Christian Elders have long lived out this faith, walking paths of strength and resilience, calling the church to do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly. Their leadership and faith continue to guide and inspire us today.

Why Your Gift Matters

Each year, Common Grace partners with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Christian Leaders to create Aboriginal Sunday resources — sermons, prayers, videos, and reflections that invite churches across these lands to listen deeply, pray with hope, and take action for justice.

It costs around $20,000 every year to create and share these resources — to reach thousands of churches in every corner of the country with stories that stir hearts, shape faith, and call the church into courageous love.

Generosity makes this possible. We need your generosity to continue making this possible.

When you give, you help:

  • Amplify a variety of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Christian voices across the breadth of the Australian church.
  • Encourage Christian churches to stand in prayer and solidarity for First Nations’ community and justice.
  • Equip churches to hold Aboriginal Sunday services across these lands.
  • Inspire a movement of prayer, truth-telling, and faithful action for justice and healing.
