10 years old and locked behind bars. Ripped away from family. Severed from culture and Country. As a follower of Jesus, this cruelty must break your heart.

You can pave the way for justice, healing, and a truly reconciled Australia in Christ-like compassion.

A nation that criminalises the youngest members of the world’s oldest continuing cultures, is one that falls well short of genuine reconciliation. That’s why raising the age is a crucial step towards a healed and truly reconciled Australia. Today you can help lead the way forward.

Please give generously

Today with your caring Reconciliation Gift, you’ll support faithful Christian advocacy. Including the call to raise the age of criminal responsibility to at least 14. Because when you’re only 10 years old, you’re too little and too young to end up in prison.

This is how your caring Reconciliation Gift helps amplify truth and build momentum concerning urgent issues like raise the age…

🖤 Your Christ-like compassion supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Christian Leaders to travel to advocacy events and share their experience and wisdom… so your Common Grace movement can continue to learn through deep listening.

💛 Your caring mercy helps Common Grace raise up the prophetic voice of the Australian church… so First Nations peoples – who live under the daily weight of injustice – know that followers of Christ are right there with them in the fight against it.

❤️ Your faithful kindness helps create new resources and training that equip you in faith and advocacy… so you can speak grace and truth and live reconciliation in your daily life.

Today you can help make meaningful and lasting change. Ending this injustice and protecting children should matter deeply to every follower of Christ.

Please give as generously as you can.

The terrible truth…

You are 27x more likely to be put in prison as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander child… than your non-Indigenous friends who are not. This is the terrible truth.

Childhood imprisonment results in lasting trauma and the loss of community, culture, and Country. Often it leads to a lifelong cycle of reoffending.

Last year Australia passed laws to protect children from the harms of social media until they are 16. Yet Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children as young as 10 are still being taken from their families and thrown in prison.

Australia is falling behind. The minimum age of criminal responsibility in most other developed countries is 14 or higher.

No child of 10 belongs behind bars. Let alone locked up alongside some who are almost twice their age

Please give before Monday 30 June. Your kindness will support urgent advocacy work. Including the call to raise the age of criminal responsibility to at least 14.

Walk hand-in-hand with First Nations peoples…

You know that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples wrestle with pain and rejection daily. It's not fair to ask those who live their lives under the weight of this injustice, to carry the fight for change forward on their own.

“We need our non-Indigenous brothers and sisters to walk hand-in-hand with us Mob. Seeing that there are people like you who are willing to walk alongside me, gives me the will to keep fighting.”

Cameron Balcombe. Proud Olkola and Djabuguy man and part of your Common Grace movement.

Just as Aaron and Hur held Moses’ tired arms up until the battle was won (Exodus 17: 11-12), those of us who are not Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander can act with compassion and share in that important responsibility.
