Join Common Grace in Melbourne/Naarm this August 18–19 for an important national gathering: A Faithful Church Response to Domestic and Family Violence.
Hosted by the Anglican Church of Australia, in partnership with Common Grace, we are excited to bring you this opportunity to listen deeply to stories from survivor-advocates, psychologists, theologians, and church leaders.
Over two days, this powerful conference will explore how we, as Christians and the Church, can respond to domestic and family violence in ways that are biblically faithful, trauma-informed, and justice-seeking.
Whether you’re a survivor, a pastor, a practitioner, a passionate layperson, or someone just beginning this journey, this is a space for you.
What to expect:
Day 1 features keynote addresses, Scripture reflections, lived experience, and practical tools to help us shape a faithful and courageous church response to DFV.
We’re thrilled that Todd Darvas, a member of Common Grace’s DFV Working Group, will be speaking on one of the Day 1 panels.
Day 2 offers two stream options:
-
Men’s Summit (Men only): A dedicated space for men to explore their role in preventing violence and transforming harmful cultures.
-
Hands-on Training Stream: Learn to recognise the early signs of DFV, respond well, and equip your church through our new Communities that Care program.
We’ll close the conference with a shared vision for a faithful and effective Church response across these lands now called Australia.
