Healing Wings is a picture of Malachi 4:2:
“But for you who revere my name the sun of righteousness shall rise, with healing in its wings. You shall go out leaping like calves from the stall."
Safina Stewart’s painting of the wedge-tail eagle represents Creator Spirit. The vibrant array of colours in her artwork reminds us that God’s promise is one of joy, light, and healing. There is no darkness in God’s promises to us.
As Safina says:
“The promise of the verse is so much restoration and joy. And our only requirement, our only response back is to revere the name of the Lord. It speaks to God’s incredible generosity and grace to us.”

About the Artist
Safina Stewart is a proud Wuthathi and Mabuiag Island woman and artist who has contributed to community, corporate and private art projects across Australia for 20 years. In 2022, Safina was invited to be an artist-in-residence for the UNDRR Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction, with her artwork ‘Caring’ featured as the 2022 Conference graphic. Safina’s vibrant and deeply evocative works can also be found on public display in churches, hospitals, theological colleges, schools and office spaces across the country. Her artwork is beautiful and widely appealing, drawing on her rich Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander heritage to create stunning, meaningful works. Safina also shapes, leads, and makes a rich contribution to the work of Common Grace as our Storyteller and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Lead.
