Imagine on January 26th people's Facebook feeds around the country being filled with their friends publicly acknowledging Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples and what this day means to them.

On January 26th, we're inviting Australians to identify the traditional owners of the land they live on, then publicly acknowledge them with a Facebook post – you have a real chance to use your Facebook feed for good.

So, come back to this page on January 26th to add your acknowledgement, or signup for a reminder.

I pay my respects to their elders past, present and future, and acknowledge Aboriginal peoples are hurting and mourning on this day. I also acknowledge that Aboriginal peoples have a strong spirit of survival, through persecution and genocide, through assimilation and discrimination, through poverty and systemic marginalisation. Today, I acknowledge my role in reconciliation and in the healing and restoration of the dignity of the indigenous people in Australia and all across the world. I do not know how, so may God help me to do so.
