Today, on January 26th, I recognise the Traditional Owners of this land, the Wurundjeri willam. Melbourne’s north-east was the homeland of the Wurundjeri willam people who belonged to the Woiworung language group and greater Kulin Nation. Today, the Wurundjeri Tribe Land and Compensation Cultural Heritage Council, recognised as the Aboriginal custodians of Banyule and Kulin Nations, take care of this rich and diverse cultural heritage as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which I live.
