Imagine on January 26th people's Facebook feeds around the country being filled with their friends publicly acknowledging Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples and what this day means to them.

On January 26th, we're inviting Australians to identify the traditional owners of the land they live on, then publicly acknowledge them with a Facebook post – you have a real chance to use your Facebook feed for good.

So, come back to this page on January 26th to add your acknowledgement, or signup for a reminder.

Today, on January 26th, I acknowledge that peace treaties between invaders and natives in the USA, Canada and New Zealand have no equivalent in Australia, meaning that Australia effectively remains occupied land. I also acknowledge that this land remains the ancestral home of the Aboriginal nations, its traditional custodians, whose continuing connection to the land I recognise and respect.
