On January 26, we invite you to share an Acknowledgement of Country to join together in recognising today as a day of survival and mourning for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, and commit to walking softly and gently upon these lands in the invitation of friendship and reconciliation, towards justice, healing and flourishing for all.
Commit to taking a stand for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander justice by sharing a photo of your feet on Country, or a symbol of a heart, alongside an Acknowledgement of Country on social media. Talk about it with whoever you meet on the day and invite others to take part.
This year, we are inviting our Common Grace movement to share a photo of a heart - your hands making a heart symbol or your coloured in heart graphic designed by Safina Stewart - as a call for a safe, free and flourishing future for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

These heart graphics have been used as part of an advocacy action churches have taken in marking Aboriginal Sunday in 2026, calling together for a safe, free and flourishing future for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children to be loved, not locked up. How do I take my photo?
We encourage you to take off your shoes and head outside to take a photo of your feet on the land you live on, or a photo of your heart symbol/graphic. If you're using your phone to take the photo, landscape orientation will work best (though you'll also be able to rotate it before posting). If you want you can also take a photo with a few people, and share it together. Then, write your Acknowledgment of Country (or use the one we provide), add it to this website then share it on your social media, tagging us @commongraceaus.
