The Lord's Prayer

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Christian Leaders from across the country helped us to reflect on and rediscover The Lord’s Prayer for our 2023 Lent Series.

Every year, millions of Christians around the world prepare themselves for Easter by recognising the season of Lent, a time to walk with God in anticipation, reflection and humility.

This Lent, join Common Grace as we create space in our busy lives to journey together reflecting and praying the prayer Jesus taught us to pray: The Lord’s Prayer.

In 2023, we have invited Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Christian Leaders from across the country to help us journey through The Lord’s Prayer in this season of Lent.

Each week we will be sharing a short video reflection from a different Aboriginal Christian Leader with discussion questions and prayers to help you engage more deeply.

Explore these reflections below from Bianca Manning, Adam Gowen, Uncle Vince Ross, Safina Stewart, Aunty Ravina Waldren, Aunty Sue Hodges and Uncle Dr Pastor Ray Minniecon.

Through this series we hope you are inspired, moved, convicted and confronted as we explore how Jesus calls us to pray to see His Kingdom come today.

To wrap up our 2023 series we are thankful to share this song of The Lord's Prayer is by Aboriginal Christian Leader Uncle Nelson Varcoe. Uncle Nelson is a singer, songwriter, artist, pastor, and educator, whose family is from Ngarrindjeri Country (Raukkan). Uncle Nelson has been singing and composing since he was 12 years old.
