Do I need to sign up to host a screening at my church?
Yes. Please sign up so that Common Grace can support you with resources. Sign is a short survey so we can best support your circumstances.

I will just be inviting a few friends over to watch with me at home, do I still need to sign up?
Yes. Please sign up so that Common Grace can support you with resources for small group discussions. Don’t worry, we will not promote your place or publicly list your details.

My church is currently gathering in homes. Should we sign up as one church?
Yes, we recommend you sign up as one church (10+ people) and then designate leaders to make their own places available. Please encourage your congregation to sign up as individuals, so that we know how many people are watching, and that the individuals receive the follow-up resources in February.

Can I host an event but not watch or listen to the simulcast service?
No. You are invited by one of our most senior Aboriginal Christian Leaders, Aunty Jean Phillips, to gather together to pray in unison to #ChangeTheHeart on the evening before January 26. When you sign up to make your place available it is a commitment to sharing this service on Monday, 25 January 2021 at 7:30 pm AEDT.

Can I host an event at a different time?
We understand that due to the current time differences this may present a problem for some. We are in conversations with churches in Perth and WA to explore later times for hosting events. Please get in touch at [email protected] if the timezone is presenting a problem for you.

Can I get a copy of the service to play at another time?
You are invited by one of our most senior Aboriginal Christian Leaders, Aunty Jean Phillips, to gather together to pray in unison to #ChangeTheHeart on the evening before January 26 — Monday, 25 January 2021 at 7:30 pm AEDT. We understand that this timing might not work for everyone, so please get in touch at [email protected].

Will Common Grace manage an RSVP process for me?
No. When you sign up to make your place available you commit to taking responsibility for the promotion, RSVPs, and compliance with the COVID Safe requirements of your state or territory.

Will Common Grace promote my event?
Common Grace will list some events on its website but will not promote events in homes or personal addresses. When you sign up to make your place available, you will be given the option to request that your event is listed on commongrace.org.au. By opting in, you are agreeing that people outside of your church or faith community are able to attend your event.

What does it mean to have my place listed on the Common Grace website?
By having your place listed on the Common Grace website you are committing to opening your venue to the wider public as a way of encouraging people you may not know to tune in with you. You are also committing to comply with the COVID Safe requirements of your state or territory. We encourage all people who welcome visitors to establish a process of managing RSVPs. The Common Grace website directs people to contact you directly about seating capacity and RSVPs.

Why is Common Grace only listing some places on their website?
Common Grace is not listing all places as we know that many events will be taking place in people’s private homes, and because of COVID Safe requirements, not all venues can accept walk-ins or visitors. When you sign up to make your place available, you can choose if you want Common Grace to list your event on its website. By opting in, you are agreeing that people outside of your church or faith community are able to attend your event.

Should I include supper as part of being a broadcast venue?
Creating opportunities for your attendees to engage in conversation is a wonderful way to participate in #ChangeTheHeart and this is something Common Grace encourages. However, because of the various time differences and Covid Safe requirements across these lands now called Australia, Common Grace won’t be able to provide explicit direction on how to expand your event beyond the one hour simulcast. For instance, restrictions in your state or territory may not allow you to provide a supper. Common Grace recommends that you check with your state or territory’s requirements and make plans based on current restrictions.

I’ve signed up for my church, do I also have to sign up for an Aboriginal Sunday Church Resource Toolkit?
Yes. Please go to this webpage to sign up for the Aboriginal Sunday Church Resource Toolkit. The distribution of these resources is managed separately.

Can I invite my local elected leaders to my place?
If you’re hosting a broadcast in a public space, such as a church building or community hall, we encourage you to invite people from your broader community, including local leaders. Please keep in mind and comply with the COVID Safe requirements of your state or territory.

What time should my event start?
The service will be screened live so your event should start half an hour before the screening time in your location so that everyone is ready at the start time for the live event. The service runs for one hour.

My question was not answered here, what do I do next?
