Get your church involved

The Church has a critical role to play in advocating for the rights of refugees and asylum seekers.

One of the best things that you can do as a Church is for the whole congregation to learn about people seeking asylum together - both what the Bible says about it, and what the Australian context is.

After that, you can work together as a church to meet the needs of people who are seeking asylum or refugees in your local community and to advocate for justice. We've put together Bible study and teaching resources that you can use in your church, along with advocacy resources links to organisations that are practically helping to meet the needs of people seeking asylum in Australia:

The Churches of Christ from Victoria and Tasmania have also put together this great video giving an overview of the issue and how we as Christians can have an important and powerful voice in seeing the just and Christ-like treatment of people in our nation's care.
