NAIDOC Week 2022

Get Up! Stand Up! Show Up!

NAIDOC Week is an annual week-long celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history, culture and achievements. The theme for NAIDOC Week 2022 is Get Up! Stand Up! Show Up!

This NAIDOC Week (3-10 July), we will be responding to the call of Senior Aboriginal Christian Leader, Aunty Jean Phillips, for the Australian Church to acknowledge and honour the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Christian Leaders of the past (watch #ChangeTheHeart 2022 here).

Join us throughout NAIDOC Week, as we highlight some of the incredible Aboriginal Christian Leaders of the past who inspire us to “Get Up! Stand Up! Show Up!” today. Together let’s commit to learning their names and stories.

May we follow the example of our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Christian Leaders as we continue to be compelled by our faith and put our Love into Action.

"It’s also time to celebrate the many who have driven and led change in our communities over generations—they have been the heroes and champions of change, of equal rights and even basic human rights." - NAIDOC website

Be inspired by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Christian Leaders of the past and commit to learning their names and stories.

Show Up! by attending NAIDOC Week events in your local area. Find out about NAIDOC Week community events in every capital city here.

Take action for justice by writing a letter to the Premier and/or Attorney General in your State or Territory, encouraging them to take action to #RaiseTheAge of criminal responsibility.
