NAIDOC Week is an annual week-long celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history, culture and achievements in the first week of July every year (Sunday to Sunday). In 2023, NAIDOC Week is 2 - 9 July.

The theme for NAIDOC Week 2023 is ‘For Our Elders’.

“Across every generation, our Elders have played, and continue to play, an important role and hold a prominent place in our communities and families.” NAIDOC Week Committee

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders hold a significant and treasured role in our lives and communities. This NAIDOC Week we want to celebrate and honour our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders for being our cultural knowledge holders, community builders, teachers, leaders, advocates, and trailblazers paving the way through their love, strength, wisdom, courage, knowledge and guidance.

We recognise the significant contribution of our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Christian Leaders of the past and present.

This NAIDOC Week join us in celebrating and honoring our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Elders, and also the Elders in your life and community.
