Election 2019 Church Billboard Campaign - Post Election

After five weeks our journey through the federal election campaign is over. Whether you’re celebrating or mourning the results, there is much more to do. Political engagement is more than just one vote when an election rolls around. So come with us on the journey of following Jesus into his beautiful, generous justice.

Our sign this week reminds us that politics and justice go beyond an election campaign. As we follow Jesus’ teaching, we are called to more. Jesus invites us to encounter his love and engage in his upside down Kingdom (for some examples of what this looks like, check out some of our 2019 Lent reflections here). As we follow him we reflect his beauty, generosity and justice.

Church Bulletin Materials

This week our Church is using a sign developed by Common Grace (www.commongrace.org.au). It reads:

Victory or Defeat,

Jesus invites us to more:

Beauty, generosity,

justice

After five weeks our journey through the federal election campaign is over. Whether you’re celebrating or mourning the results, there is much more to do. Political engagement is more than just one vote when an election rolls around. So come with us on the journey of following Jesus into his beautiful, generous justice.

Our sign this week reminds us that politics and justice go beyond an election campaign. As we follow Jesus’ teaching, we are called to more. Jesus invites us to encounter his love and engage in his upside down Kingdom. As we follow him we reflect his beauty, generosity and justice.

This week let’s pray: Loving God, as we commence a new period of parliament, we pray for our elected government. Bless those who represent us: may they reflect your compassion, love and thirst for justice. We bring before you those who are disappointed with the election results and pray for their comfort. May we, your body, remain united in love, finding common ground as we work for justice. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Our prayer is that these materials are useful to your church community as you prepare for the Federal election.

We’d love you to send us a photo of your church using the sign for us to share on social media - to info@common grace.org.au
