Free event by Chris Saunders. We ask that all of our community join us in resistance of Jan 26th on the stolen lands of Gunditjmara people and the site of Victoria’s first Massacre.
ON THE DAY: We will be holding two different smoking ceremonies.
THE FIRST, will start at 9am and will be conducted at the site of the Convincing Ground Massacre, I will post a map location on the event in the next coming of days. the site of this smoking ceremony will be not accessible for those who have difficulty with mobility. It’s suggested that you instead come to the second event so you don’t miss out.
THE SECOND, will start at 11am and be conducted at the site of the first lands ploughed on Gunditjmara country, there’s a monument to signify this across from Portland Hospital. A map location will also be provided.
It would be good if all in attendance can bring an arrangement of Native plants to lay at both these sites acknowledging the past and ancestors.
