Day 7 - Confronting
Join Ben Thurley in confronting our leaders’ inaction on climate disruption.
Because chaos will be ultimately defeated by God, Mick Pope calls us to be agents of order and renewal.
In the Hebrew Bible, the sea represents chaos. God brought order out of chaos, but chaos returned in the flood as judgment on humans who filled the earth with violence. Climate change is an act of violence. In Revelation 21 we see a window into the future where chaos is defeated, and the heavens and earth are renewed. Yet God and the Lamb sit on the throne now (Rev 5-6). The future starts now, and every act of renewal is worship at the throne.
Take action by creating something: a painting, poem, song, sculpture, cake, garden, a comfortable space in your home. And as you create, remember that God is bringing order out of chaos and a future where everything will be renewed.
