This National Reconciliation Week, we're calling Australian Christians to pledge to be led by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Christian Leaders in pursuing friendship and Reconciliation in our lifetimes.
As we commemorate the 20th Anniversary of the Walks for Reconciliation in the year 2000, will you commit to #StillWalkingForReconciliation?
I commit to be led by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Christian Leaders in pursuing friendship and Reconciliation in my lifetime. #StillWalkingForReconciliation
As we commemorate the 20th Anniversary of the Walks for Reconciliation in the year 2000, will you share a creative expression of your commitment to #StillWalkingForReconciliation? We’d love to create a visual wall of commitment and see chalkings on our pavements, social media feeds flooded and opportunities for conversations with friends, families and neighbours.
So:
- Get creative! No matter your skill level, we encourage you to take a creative action. You could paint the image, write on the footpath in chalk, stitch on paper or fabric or print off an image and take a photo with it.
- Upload your photo to the right and add your pledge to commit to #StillWalkingForReconciliation (and scroll down to view the gallery of photos)
- Share on social media, tagging @commongraceaus
- Use your creative product as a conversation starter! Chat to a family member, housemate or neighbour about why you follow Jesus and why you support being led by Aboriginal Christian Leaders to pursue friendship and Reconciliation in your lifetime.
