Join us as we celebrate Season of Creation,
1 September - 4 October
Every year, Christians around the world, from across denominations, commit the month of September as a season to celebrate God’s beautiful Earth, and renew our shared commitment to restoring that beauty. For the liturgical amongst us, this is called the Season of Creation. Common Grace produces resources for churches and faith communities to use to help engage and participate in the Season of Creation. Learn more about the history of Season of Creation here.
This year the theme is “Peace with Creation” with the symbol “the garden of peace”, inspired by Isaiah 32:14-18,
14 The fortress will be abandoned,
the noisy city deserted;
citadel and watchtower will become a wasteland forever,
the delight of donkeys, a pasture for flocks,
15 till the Spirit is poured on us from on high,
and the desert becomes a fertile field,
and the fertile field seems like a forest.
16 The Lord’s justice will dwell in the desert,
his righteousness live in the fertile field.
17 The fruit of that righteousness will be peace;
its effect will be quietness and confidence forever.
18 My people will live in peaceful dwelling places,
in secure homes,
in undisturbed places of rest.
The prophet Isaiah pictured the desolated Creation without peace because of the lack of justice and the broken relationship between God and humankind. This description of devastated cities and wastelands eloquently stresses the fact that human destructive behaviours have a negative impact on the Earth.
Our hope: Creation will find peace when justice is restored. There is still hope and the expectation for a peaceful Earth.
To hope in a biblical context does not mean to stand still and quiet, but to act, pray, change, and reconcile with Creation and the Creator in unity, metanoia (repentance), and solidarity.

Amidst the growing climate emergency, this season provides us with time to celebrate and reflect on the wonderful gift of God’s precious and beautiful creation. Let creation inspire us to pursue justice and peace, for a collective river of change that aligns with God’s desire and design for the flourishing of all his creation.
We invite you to join with thousands of other Christians during Season of Creation to celebrate and take action together in hope.

We took the Climate Challenge in Season of Creation 2024
Last September, during the 2024 Season of Creation, the Common Grace community came together to take on the Climate Challenge — making month-long lifestyle changes to reduce our ecological footprint, raise awareness, and fund urgent climate action. Participants sustained their plates by changing their diets, shelved their purchases by buying nothing new, and shifted their gears by transforming the way they travelled.
We were deeply inspired by the many across the Common Grace movement who put their love for God’s creation into action in creative, courageous, and transformative ways. This September 2025, we’re gearing up to celebrate Season of Creation again — with fresh ways to take action and new stories to share.
