I am in one of the photos above holding the Australia placard. My son and I were part of the crowd.

Why did you Walk for Reconciliation in the year 2000?

I had many friends who were Aboriginal. The police were unbelievably biased and the Aboriginal peopls were not able to access many of the rights of an Australian citizen. No one can enjoy a country while a huge portion of it’s citizens are not respected and their daily life involves negative and violent interactions from other people and police.

What has changed in the last 20 years?

The Aboriginal peoples have set up many ways to live with access to their language and are not forced to live the European values.

What is your vision of Reconciliation for the next 20 years?

I would like the Aboriginal peoples to take charge of many ways to live on the land so the future will be available to everyone and not become unlivable for any life. Resources would have to be made available to achieve this.
