Read moreGathering with others to pray for change is a wonderful thing. Common Grace invites our community across these lands now called Australia to come together at key moments to commit our hearts and actions to prayer through online prayer vigils.
Our vigils are live, participatory and multi-generational. Joining from our homes we create and hold space for our prayers through spoken, visual and sung contributions from people of diverse places and ages.
Explore resources from our previous prayer vigils for Creation and Climate Justice, School Strike 4 Climate, 24 September 2020 and Earth Overshoot Day, 22 March 2021.
Many of Common Grace’s previous series provide content, reflections and further resources that can help engage your bible study groups in learning more about climate justice.
Amid crises that have shaken our world in 2020 Dr Byron Smith and Brooke Prentis help us reflect on the urgent need to heal our relationships with creation and each other. Season of Creation helps us enter a time of restoration and hope, a jubilee for our Earth, where we hold tight to God’s intention to see the flourishing of the whole of creation.
Mixing science, politics and religion Dr Byron Smith addresses the issue of climate change and how each of us are called to proclaim Jesus’ love, in both word and deed, through the many and varied opportunities we have to take action on climate change.
Keynote presentations from experts on climate anxiety and climate pastoral care, climate communication and church climate action.
Recommended presentations: Byron Smith: Deadly Growth: Cancer, COVID-19 and Climate and Brooke Prentis: 250 years of advocacy for Creation and Climate Justice
The Five Leaf Eco-Awards is an ecumenical environmental change program specifically designed for churches and religious organisations to help assist, inspire and reward their actions in becoming more sustainable in response to God’s call to care for creation.
